Portland, ME September 2, 2009- The Greater Portland Convention & Visitors Bureau will cap off Harvest on the Harbor, the three-day culinary festival, with “Harvest Uncorked,” the ultimate dance party. “Harvest Uncorked” takes place on Saturday, October 24th at Maine’s newest event center, The Landing at Pine Point, a small beach community in Scarborough.
“Harvest Uncorked” is this year’s food, wine, and dance sensation. While enjoying great music, from bagpipers to a jazz trio to a rollicking society dance band, guests will have access to plenty of delicious cuisine at multiple food stations featuring the harvest of Maine’s farmers, fishermen, and food purveyors. All the food will be accompanied by complimentary wines, and a cash bar will be available. The thousands who attend this annual celebration take part in celebrating the people who provide the ingredients that help to raise Maine’s culinary arts to new heights.
Harvest on the Harbor promotes Maine as a culinary destination by celebrating great local chefs and wines from Maine and around the world. Last fall, Harvest on the Harbor was named one of the “Top Ten Seafood and Wine Festivals” by Coastal Living magazine and it was attended by more than 3,000 foodies from Maine and around the country.
Sponsors of the event include Down East magazine, Hannaford Supermarkets and WHOM 94.9FM.
