Portland, ME August 28, 2009- The Greater Portland Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has launched an exciting Web site for Harvest on the Harbor, the annual culinary festival. The Web site, www.HarvestontheHarbor.com, designed and programmed by Transit ID of Portland, has many user-friendly features and in-depth information on Maine’s premier food and wine experience.

“We wanted this Web site to reflect the style of the event and the community’s commitment to culinary tourism by posting a great deal of useful information,” said Lynn Tillotson, Director of Tourism & Marketing of the Greater Portland CVB. “Visitors to the site can learn more about who’s cooking, who’s pouring and who’s presenting, as well as details about Saturday’s marketplace, just by clicking on the menu buttons which take you to detailed information.”

HarvestontheHarbor.com includes a schedule of events, ticket information and lodging packages. You can watch videos of some of the local chefs preparing their favorite dishes and learn more about their background. (Can we put the videos up that I am using on Facebook of the segments from last year’s “Chef’s Kitchen”??)

Maine’s premier food and wine festival, in its second year, promotes the state as a culinary destination by celebrating great local chefs and wines from Maine and around the world.  Last fall, Harvest on the Harbor was named one of the “Top Ten Seafood and Wine Festivals” by Coastal Living magazine, and it was attended by more than 3,000 foodies from Maine and around the country.

Sponsors of the event include Down East magazine, Hannaford Supermarkets and WHOM 94.9FM.

Please visit www.HarvestontheHarbor.com for all information about and tickets to Maine’s premier food and wine experience.
