Welcome to Harvest on the Harbor
Celebrating Five Years
Welcome to our fifth annual Harvest on the Harbor, the Convention + Visitors Bureau’s toast to Maine’s culinary arts. This year’s event promises to bring even more of what Maine is renowned for - delectably delicious culinary creations from Maine’s top chefs and producers who take pride in presenting products that are locally grown and responsibly harvested.
The harvest season is a very special time on the coast of Maine and we invite you to enjoy an amazing array of food and beverage tastings, educational sessions, and some fun and entertaining surprises - all of which are designed to wow you!
Back by Popular Demand
You won’t want to miss our signature event – the Grand Tasting on the Harbor where guests have an opportunity to sample Maine’s best restaurants and meet the chef owners personally. We’ve upped the ante by pairing some of the most unbelievable beers, wines and spirits with our specialty chef creations.
Always a crowd pleaser, the Lobster Chef of the Year Competition will surely satisfy your hankering for the tasty crustacean in a thrilling showdown designed to crown Maine’s best lobster chef. Savory Samplings at the Marketplace will return this year, introducing you to even more of Maine’s best food products along with an even larger sampling of Maine’s own spirits and micro brews along wines from every corner of the world.
In celebration of Maine’s outstanding farm scene, we’ll again be presenting Top of the Crop: Maine’s Best Farm to Table Restaurant. This year, the four competing restaurants will prepare appetizer size portions of their favorite meat dishes utilizing organic, grass fed, farm raised and or free range products.

Raising the Bar
We’re always striving to raise the bar for Harvest on the Harbor, and this year we’ll produce two new events sure to become annual favorites. To reinforce our commitment to the up and coming new chefs, we’ll hold our first Cutting Edge - Culinary College Competition. Four teams from our nationally recognized culinary programs will present their creations using locally farmed Salmon from our cold coastal waters.
We decided that our outstanding Maine craft beers would pair nicely with another new event – BBQ, Brews & Blues. At this new event, you’ll enjoy everything from pulled pork and tasty ribs to sensational side dishes and the best blues music around.
We invite you to share in the harvest bounty and join us for four chock-filled days of sumptuous tastings right here in Portland on the beautiful coast of Maine!
