Margaret Salt Mclellan, CEC, CDM, is the reigning 2008-9 Maine Lobster Chef of the Year. She is also the Culinary Advisory to Native Maine Produce & Specialty Foods www.nativemaineproduce.com and serves as Executive Chef for Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine. Chef Margaret has been working as a professional chef for over 25 years. Her culinary studies include Le Cordon Bleu in London, the Culinary Institute of America, and the University of Florida where she received her degree in Clinical Nutrition. Her culinary awards and accolades are numerous.
Chef Margaret is a lifetime resident of Boothbay Harbor, Maine and works diligently to promote locally grown and produced foods statewide. She is a certified Servsafe instructor, contributor to SWITCH magazine and has a passion for the slow food movement. In addition to her gourmet culinary training and experience, Chef Margaret has lobster in her blood—she was raised on the wharves and fishing boats of Boothbay, Maine by a family with a long and proud history of fishing Maine’s pristine waters.
