Born as third generation sushi chef in Osaka, Japan, Chef Seiji Ando takes great pride in creating top quality sushi dishes.
Chef Ando began his career as an Assistant Sushi Chef in Osaka, Japan, and quickly moved up to Sushi Chef. After moving to the United States, Chef Ando worked for three years at Sakura Japanese Restaurant, one of oldest Japanese restaurants in the U.S. His career has spanned over 30 years and most recently, before coming to Benkay in Portland, he worked at Tono Sushi and BenKay Japanese Restaurant, both in Washington D.C.
