The schedule below includes descriptions for each event and ticket options.
You must be 21 years or older to attend Harvest on the Harbor Events at the Ocean Gateway. Infants in backpacks are permitted, strollers are prohibited. Please be prepared to show valid i.d.

GRAND TASTING ON THE HARBOR

Harvest on the Harbor’s opening night event will excite and satisfy your taste buds. The Grand Tasting combines 20 celebrated Maine restaurants with more than a hundred different wines, brews and spirits from Maine and around the world. Located in the Ocean View Room of the new Ocean Gateway, attendees will be treated to amazing views of Portland’s natural treasures, Casco Bay and the Calendar Islands as they sip, nosh and groove to their hearts content.
This event is for everyone including the “foodie”, the wine connoisseur, and the novice. This premiere event sold out early last year, so get your tickets today!

PEOPLE'S CHOICE LOBSTER COMPETITION

Lobster lovers and those curious about the crustacean cuisine will want to experience the elaborate flavors created by Maine chefs. A distinguished panel of judges selects three of the top recipes entered into the contest, and then attendees of this succulent competition get the opportunity to taste all three lobster dishes and vote on their favorite.
A portion of the proceeds will help support scholarships that will be awarded to deserving culinary students from Southern Maine Community College.

Peter Berley, former Executive Chef at Angelica Kitchen in NYC, is a private chef, caterer, and previous owner of the Fire Pond Restaurant in Blue Hill, Maine. Peter has been active in the natural foods movement for over 25 years. His food has been featured on the Food Network and Chef du Jour. He is the author of The Flexitarian Table: Flexible Meals for Meat Lovers, Vegetarians, and Everyone In Between (Houghton Mifflin, June 2007); Fresh Food Fast, A Modern Vegetarian Guide to Seasonal Menus in Minutes (Harper Collins, June 2004); and The Modern Vegetarian Kitchen (Harper Collins).

The Man Cave — Don’t miss this unique experience! Cave dwellers can sample galore and learn about the art of brewing and grilling from the masters! A grilling stage will provide both entertainment and education from some of the best local talent. Pick up some tips and ask some questions of the masters!
Down East Magazine presents “A Taste of Maine” – Offering some of the state’s best culinary experiences to locals and those “from away.” Down East, known as “The Magazine of Maine,” will present a diverse and delightful array of exhibitors from the Maine wines and cheeses to Maine seafood.
Harvest Haute Couture Gallery – “Harvest-themed” art installation by Meredith Alex, nationally acclaimed fashion designer, will bring a level of New York haute couture fashion to the Ocean Gateway Pier. The food and harvest themed gowns will be displayed by models in the Harvest Haute Couture Gallery. You may actually hear, over a sip of wine with your friends, the following question: “Are those mussel shells on the trim of that dress?”
