Come decide who will be crowned Maine’s Lobster Chef of the Year!
Lobster lovers and those curious about crustacean cuisine will want to experience the elaborate flavors created by these chefs. A distinguished panel of judges selects three of the top recipes entered into the contest, and then you will get to taste all three lobster dishes and vote on your favorite.
Attendees will also be treated to wine pairings from Maine’s own Cellardoor Winery & Vineyard and to a presentation on how to bake with Maine blueberries, including a special demonstration of Standard Baking Company’s new recipe for Maine Blueberry Ricotta Pound Cake. Frommer’s Travel Guide has called Portland’s Standard Baking Company “the best bakery in New England.” Executive Pastry Chef, Tara Smith, created this flavorful recipe specifically for this year’s Harvest on the Harbor. A portion of the proceeds will help support scholarships for deserving culinary students from Southern Maine Community College.
Our three judges will feature: Sam Hayward, chef/partner Fore Street Restaurant; Kathleen Fleury, food editor for Down East magazine and chef Wilfred Beriau (CEC, CCE, AAC), department chair and professor at Southern Maine Community College.
