Harvest on the Harbor for Kids!

Drop the kids off before you head over for the event! Color Me Mine is cooking up a pizza party where kids can paint a piece of dinnerware with their favorite foods, with a special showing of Ratatouille for children ages 4 and up.

Wicked Walking Tours

Join your fellow thrill seekers and history lovers for this very entertaining and unique romp through Portland’s past. Professional performance artists turn factual dark history dating from the 1600's into theater and even stand-up comedy at times, featuring Indian attacks, witch trials, pirates and more!

Time: Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m. (tours last about one hour)
Location: 72 Commercial Street in the small park next to the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal and Flatbread Pizza. (Two blocks from Ocean Gateway)

Pumpkin Carving Workshop

Create the spookiest or silliest pumpkin ever (and make a mess here and not at home) at the annual pumpkin carving workshop at the Children's Museum and Theater of Maine. Enjoy apple cider and tasty autumn treats while you carve a jack-o-lantern! Instruction, materials and ideas provided. Alternative, no-carve decorating options are also available for the very young.

Old Port Culinary Walking Tours

Times: There are  tours offered daily, each lasting approximately 2 hours - Wednesday through Sunday.  Wed at 11 a.m., Thursday at 10:30 and 1:45, Friday at 10:30 and 1:45, Saturday at 10:30 and 2:45, Sunday at 10:30 and 1:00.  Afternoon tours Thurs-Sat begin at the Ocean Gateway to work in tandem with Harvest on the Harbor events.

"Culinary Delights" Trolley Tour

With an additional stop added for this special Harvest on the Harbor tour! Hop on board and bring your appetite for adventure! Learn and taste why Portland has become a culinary hotbed as you dine on board and also disembark to visit five destinations. Tastes include handcrafted ales, fresh breads with artisan cheese, Maine mead from wildflower honey, cioppino with Jonah crab, whoopie pies and blueberry cobbler. Entertaining guides, bakers and chefs will tell you about the Portland scene as you tastes their culinary delights.  Tours are limited to 28 people with reservations closed an hour before start times. Our Baking series concludes with, what else?  Whoopie Pies!  Shauna Osteen from Baker’s Confections and our own LeRoux staff will be offering 2 delicious versions of this classic Maine treat.  Chocolate Whoopie Pies with Vanilla Bean Cream and especially for fall:  Pumpkin Whoopies with Cinnamon Cream.  Shauna’s Maine Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies are a customer favorite.

LeRoux Kitchen - Tasty Homemade Pizza Demo!

Hang up the Phone:  Great Homemade Pizza --  LeRoux’s Wine and Beer buyer, Craig Gay returns again this year, creating some fabulously tasty pizzas that you can make at home.  Some past favorites have been “A Taste of Maine,” a white sauce seafood pizza, “A Reuben pizza”, complete with sauerkraut and pastrami and “Turkey Dinner Pizza” included  mashed potatoes and cranberry compote with a gravy base!
